So, it’s been about a little over a month and apparently our President-Elect has already messed up.

That’s right, I am of course talking about all the hoopla surrounding WHAT KIND OF MP3 PLAYER HE USES.

In a Philadelphia blog a reporter off-handedly mentions that he sees Obama working out at the gym listening to his Zune. Apparently this is some kind of crime, seeing how a whole militia of Apple fanboys everywhere are now crying mutiny.

I pulled this quote from one of the related articles on what is now being called “Zunegate”:

“You can’t run an election claiming you own an iPod and garnering people’s votes then after you win suddenly start toting around a Zune. That’s just not cool”

Ok, I get it. So people voted on Obama because he owns an iPod? When Obama enthusiastically blabbered “Change” I don’t think he meant popularly favored electronics distributors. This actually disappoints me. All throughout intense campaign season I always stated that this election was a huge popularity contest. No one cared about what Obama had and had not accomplished (read: nothing), but instead what hip and cool things he did that the ancient but seasoned McCain did not quite have a handle on. But I don’t want to turn this into a political rant. I respect everyone’s choice of candidate, as long as it’s for the right reasons. Preferred MP3 player is not one of them.

And here’s the thing: You KNOW it would not have been a big deal if the article said he had been using an iPod. But a liberal candidate just HAS to use the liberal operating platform, it would just be ridiculous for such a candidate to support those damn money-grubbing thugs at Microsoft, it’s almost CRIMINAL.

But you know, it doesn’t bother me that a bunch of iPod fanboys are whining because the existence of some other MP3 player has been acknowledged (another MP3 player? GASP I know!) What bothers me is that there was an OFFICIAL STATEMENT CLARIFYING THAT OBAMA IN FACT USES AND IPOD.

Could someone please explain to me WHY THE HELL this requires an official statement? Aren’t there more important things to report about, like war and crime and economy and crap? Are you all disappointed in your president-elect? Do you fear he will be a lesser candidate because of the evil audio exerted from a Zune pumping through his ears? Do you wonder how Obama could have possibly escaped the brainwashing shenanigans of Apple? Are you offended that he made a choice of his own instead of following the iSheep trend of America?

If yes, I’m going to have to ask you kindly to GTFO.

Note that I’m not trying to attack iPod owners, just those who think the MP3 player of choice of our president-elect actually matters.

Because it doesn’t.

And if what products and technology Obama uses was your deciding criteria this past November, I would like to encourage you to go climb in a hole somewhere and never voice your political opinion ever again.
